We never received a response from the Partnership but recently noticed via their Minutes  (Item 7) that they did discuss the reports. An action from those Minutes is that NHS Dorset provides a response to the Cass Review. Everyone involved in strategic safeguarding in Dorset, Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole is now aware of the Cass and Transgender Trend Reports. We await the response from NHSDorset

Image
On 18th May, 2024 Space Youth Project, funded by both Dorset Council and Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council publicised on Instagram and Facebook that a demonstration would be held the following day, against the Cass Review.     Women of Dorset were so concerned that a publicly funded organisation had published and encourged  vulnerable children, young people, parents and carers to protest against the recommendations of the Cass Review that they contacted the Charity Commission with their concerns.   Women of Dorset believed that Space Youth Project was not acting in accordance with the updated NHS Guidelines, in relation to issues of gender identity and gender dysphoria. Below is the Charity Commission response.  Highlighted is the outcome from the Commissioners who would be contacting the Trustees of Space Youth Project with advice and guidance, ensuring that they had regard to the findings, conclusions and recommendations of the Cass Review ...

Questions for PPC in Dorset - 4th July 2024 General Election

Image
Women of Dorset have contacted those standing as PPC 's in the eight Dorset constituencies.  These are the questions we have asked:- Women of Dorset was established to protect womens  sex based rights & safeguarding in Dorset, Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole.  We're an eclectic mix of women who believe that a woman is an adult human female and that:- the law allows for single sex sevices and most people want to them but they are under attack; organisations and staff are afraid even though everyone knows the difference between male and female; language has become a battleground and everyone is walking on egg shells; no one wants to be the one to tell someone that their sense of gender identity cannot override rules that protect the safety, fairness and dignity of everyone. Confusion makes services less inclusive and less safe.  It creates conflict and it isn't kind, least of all to women.  It is up to the Government to put this right.  Therefore, we ...

The Cass Review

Image
From Sex Matters:- The Cass Review final report is out! We think it is a big step forward, with multiple implications that will be hugely consequential. It demolishes the entire basis for the current model of treating gender-distressed children.  This means the end of paediatric gender medicine as we know it in England, and it will have global reverberations.    The report  makes stinging criticisms of NHS gender clinics, both adult and child, and the description of the Gender Identity Development Service is absolutely damning. Cass sometimes uses terminology – cisgender, assigned at birth, and  “trans females” that is inaccurate, unscientific and confusing. But that does not detract from the many important points she makes in this groundbreaking report.
